Upland Bird/Small Game Hunting
Upland Bird and Small Game Hunting
Typically most upland bird hunting is done with the more open choke constrictions. As with any other type of shotgun hunting, the choke you want to use depends on your shooting conditions and how that specific choke patterns the shell you want to use.
Most pen raised birds are usually shot at closer distances than their wild brothers so I would start with the most open of the suggested choke constrictions.
Some of the below suggestions are based on my personal experience. Others were based on suggestions from friends of mine. Feel free to let us know what works for you in your specific hunting conditions.
